Xfinity is promoting some of the most exciting internet offers right now. Xfinity Internet delivers high speeds at competitive rates and offers an unmatched level of flexibility.

Here we discuss everything you need to know before deciding whether to go with Xfinity and choosing the perfect plan for you. Let’s start with an overview of Spectrum’s internet plans and their promotional prices.

Xfinity Internet Plans and Monthly Costs

Xfinity has six internet plans with different speeds and prices. These prices are for the promotional period which varies from 12 to 24 months across plans.

Xfinity Internet Connect

Connect is a starter internet plan with a top download speed of 75 Mbps and a top upload speed of 10 Mbps. It costs $20 per month for a 12-month promotional period.

Xfinity Internet Connect More

Connect More is the by far the most value-added Xfinity deal for an average home. At a monthly cost of $25, you get a 200 Mbps top download speed and a 10 Mbps top upload speed and if it’s costly, you may choose Spectrum WiFi plans as an alternate This plan also includes WiFi equipment. What we like the most about this deal is that it has a 24-month promotional period so you don’t have to worry about a price increase anytime soon.

Xfinity Internet Fast

This plan has 400 Mbps top upload speed and 10 Mbps top download speed. WiFi equipment is included and the monthly cost is $55 for the 12-month promotional period.

Xfinity Internet Superfast

Superfast costs $70 per month for a top download speed of 800 Mbps and a top upload speed of 20 Mbps. This plan also includes WiFi equipment and has a 12-month promotional period.

Xfinity Internet Gigabit

Gigabit allows a top download speed of 1000 Mbps and a top upload speed of 20 Mbps. The plan costs $75 per month for a 12-month promotional period. WiFi equipment is included.

Xfinity Internet Gigabit Extra

This plan has the biggest bang for the buck. At $80 per month, you get a top download speed of 1200 Mbps and a top upload speed of 35 Mbps. This is another plan with a 24-month promotional period during which the price is locked. WiFi equipment is also included with this plan.

Xfinity Internet Data Limits

Xfinity Internet Connect and Connect More have a data limit of 1.2 TB. Average homes that only need speeds up to 200 Mbps are unlikely to reach this data limit.

If you do reach the limit, there are no overage costs for the first time in 12 months. It’s only when you exceed the limit for the second time in the same 12-month period that you have to pay for more data. An additional 50 GB will cost $10, which will be added to your bill.

All plans except Connect and Connect More listed earlier have unlimited data. Capped plans are also not available in northern states. If you get xFi Complete, you automatically get unlimited data for your plan. We’ll talk more about xFi Complete in the “Xfinity WiFi and Installation Costs” section.

Xfinity Internet Optional Term Contracts

All the plans we discussed are free from contracts. But Xfinity gives you the option to sign up for a 12 or 24-month contract for a discount.

We don’t generally recommend getting into contact as you have to pay an additional fee if you terminate the service because you didn’t like it. However, Xfinity is the biggest cable provider in the US with high customer retention.

They’re not trying to get you to stay with them longer than you want to. Instead, signing a contract lets accountants know that you don’t plan on moving to another state or terminating the service for any other personal reason anytime soon. This helps increase their confidence in their estimate of recurring income and allows them to provide you with their services for less.

If you like an Xfinity plan, feel that you can trust the provider, and don’t plan on changing providers for personal reasons, a term contract can save you a few bucks per month with your plan.

Xfinity WiFi and Installation Costs

Xfinity’s standard WiFi service—xFi Gateway—costs $14 per month and includes xFi Advanced Security. If you want additional features, you can sign up for xFi Complete which gives you unlimited data if your plan was previously capped. Spectrum WiFi plans.

You also get an xFi Pod if it’s recommended for wall-to-wall coverage in your house. The xFi Pod creates a mesh WiFi network with the xFi Gateway device and improves coverage at low-signal parts of the house. WiFi mesh networks are the most efficient and effective way to eliminate dead spots without sacrificing speed or latency.

If you want professional installation, it’ll cost you $89.99 upfront. You can also ask for a self-install kit and save the professional installation cost.

Conclusion

Xfinity has a wide range of plans with flexible terms and agreements—so you get exactly what you need at the best price possible. Contact Xfinity customer service to learn about available plans in your area.
